My name is Christy.
I have survived death.
It sounds like a bad joke, but it’s not.
I lived in a coma for 9 months after I died and came back to life. My family wondering if I would ever wake up.
The Doctor said I would be a cabbage if I ever did.

A year later I am awake in Walton Neurological Centre for brain injuries.
I can’t talk.
I can’t walk.
And realise I am blind.
This was not how my story was meant to go.
From a budding producer to a disabled loser (or so I thought)
And then, when the Dr’s told me I would never do anything again I decided to prove them wrong.
I searched all round the world for treatment to get help to regain my sight.

An amazing personal trainer who got me walking and changed my mindset from ‘YOU CANT’ to ‘YOU CAN’ and ‘I AM’

Christy is a survivor in every sense of the word. After experiencing a near-death event, she spent nine months in a coma—her family left wondering if she would ever wake up. Doctors predicted she would never regain a meaningful life. If she did wake up, they said, she would be nothing more than a “cabbage.”
But Christy defied every expectation….
A year after waking in Walton Neurological Centre, she faced an unimaginable reality—she couldn’t talk, couldn’t walk, and had lost her sight. Once a budding producer, she now found herself trapped in a body that seemed unrecognizable. The world had written her off, but she refused to accept that fate.
Determined to prove the impossible wrong, she searched the globe for treatments and found hope in stem cell therapy. With the support of an extraordinary personal trainer, she not only regained the ability to walk but also transformed her mindset from “I can’t” to “I can” and “I am.”
Through every trauma and every triumph, her family stood by her side. Now, through Fight Tales, she is here to stand beside others. This is more than a blog—it’s a movement. A community built on strength, resilience, and empowerment.

A bit more about Chrisy
Crazy by definition ( before and after she died, It’s a long term personality trait). Christy is addicted to vintage far out clothes and music, from Leonard Cohen to Iggy Pop. Always looking forward to wine o’clock hanging out with friends and trying not to act her age. Living life to the full after very nearly loosing hers!
