I Can’t Take a vacation from Medication

After having my stroke and heart attack I was put on a lot of medication because I now have epilepsy, MMD, treatment resistant depression and the list goes on. I take 27 tablets a day which means I have to organise my life around med times. Every year the list gets bigger. From taking zero to 27 tablets a day wasn’t something I saw in my future but here we are. The happy pills work for a while but then your brain gets used to them and a bigger dose is needed for the same effect and in the end it all leads to lithium! Being anorexic this med is my worse nightmare and I hope it never becomes a part of my story as it slows your metabolism down drastically and weight gain is expected even if you exercise everyday and I can’t get the fat jab because they took out my gaul bladder after being peg fed for a year, so no cheating for me 🙁 Im always testing new meds to see how they work, some make a positive shift and others don’t. I live your life on so many meds I feel like Im rattling, literally. But at least for now I can say the meds are doing their thing and Im feeling good. Its not just the meds of course having my friends and family around me encouraging me and supporting all my crazy endeavours has made all the difference. I could take on the world right now, what’s scary though is that I am a slave to Big Pharma, and if WW3 ever happens I will be in serious trouble!

The founder of Fight Tales. Crazy by definition before and after she died (It’s a long term personality trait). Christy is addicted to vintage far out clothes and music, from Leonard Cohen to Iggy Pop. Always looking forward to wine o’clock hanging out with friends and trying not to act her age. Living life to the full after very nearly loosing hers!

Life Death And Sweet Potato

I was told I wouldn’t make it. That I’d never walk, never see, never rebuild my life. They were wrong.

This book is my story—the raw, unfiltered truth of surviving trauma, fighting for a second chance, and proving that no matter how far you fall, you can rise again.

If you’ve ever struggled, if you’ve ever been told you can’t, this is for you.
